Data for a candidate variety must be accompanied by data for the appropriate control varieties, and for the target grade generated from the same trials. The target grade must be tested in the same way as data for the candidate variety.
All data requirements and the control varieties for each stage, zone and class are listed within the Wheat Quality Australia Classification Guidelines.
When changes are made to the control varieties for any classification zone, Wheat Quality Australia will notify industry participants of the changes by updating these Guidelines.
Changes will take effect for the growing season immediately following notification.
As new control varieties will be phased in over the three year period of the classification process, any data collected in the interim, and already generated using existing controls, will be considered by the Panel.
